As a lover of all things texture, I’m a major fan of leather being in the spotlight lately. I recently scored this super cute leather jacket for an awesome price at Forever 21. I wasn’t quite sure of what to pair it with, until I saw Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma show, that is. The show was nearly all black and white, and one of the edgiest shows I’ve seen yet. Though my look didn’t mirror anything in her show all that closely, I was inspired by the edgy, cool-girl vibe that exuded from every look on the runway. From over-the-knee boots to over-sized sweatshirts, this show was incredibly avant-garde and was seeping with androgyny.
I was inspired by her edgy looks and tied them into my own look by pairing leather and suede with a lot of black. My love affair with turtlenecks prevails, especially with this simple black long sleeve. I wear this top with everything; from ripped up jeans to dressy skirts. I wasn’t sure about pairing my leather jacket with another form of leather (my tan suede skirt), but I ended up loving the contrast. I got this skirt as a major—real suede for only $40 dollars!
I paired this look with black tights (it was only 30 degrees out!), my go-to black booties, my fave cross-body bag and some blue metallic aviators—had to add a little color somewhere! I love the mix of materials in this outfit—with leather, suede, metal and silky tights.
I encourage everyone to check the Fenty x Puma show out, and to take risks with fashion like Rihanna does every day.
