BEAUTY BAR: Summer Glow in Winter Gloom

Everyone looks better with warm, sun-kissed cheeks. A little color makes you look healthier, happier and fresh off the beach. We can’t all afford weekly trips to tropical islands, and dangerous tanning beds just aren’t an option. So how do you obtain this golden glow during the dark, cold winter months? This Fashionista shows us how to fake our way to midsummer skin without looking like an Oompa Loompa.

For a solid base, our Fashionista starts with a light layer of self tanner. Then she gets started on the makeup with a layer of foundation matching her newly bronzed skin. Next, she uses a peach toned concealer to cancel out any darkness under her eyes. For her contour, she uses a dark toned powder blush to hollow out under her cheekbones, around her temples and on the sides of her nose. She adds brightness to the tops of her cheekbones with a highlighting pen. On her eyes, she lays a base for her eyeshadow with a paint pot and tops it off with neutral golden brown colors. Keeping with the warm color scheme she uses a brown liquid liner, but adds drama with a set of falsies. The Fashionista finishes off her look with a pinky-nude lip crayon that adds color and gloss.

On the BEAUTY BAR: To snag this Fashionista’s gorgeous glow start with St. Tropez Dark Bronzing Mousse. For the face, use MAKE UP FOR EVER’s Ultra HD Foundation and the Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda II Concealer Palette. To contour, use MAC’s Powder Blush in Harmony and the MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter in Light Boost. On her eyes, she uses the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Cold as Ice, the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette in shades cashmere, silk teddy, nude and honey pot, MAC Fluidline Pen in Vintage Brown and Ardell Demi Wispies false lashes. She finishes it off with Ellie Goulding for MAC’s Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Innocent.
