ALL IN THE DETAILS: Kickin' It Old School

Spring is right at our fingertips, and students all over campus cannot wait to trade in their heavy parkas and winter boots for jean jackets and sneakers. Springtime opens up the door for footwear. Temperatures are finally warm enough to wear Converse or espadrilles, and not have your feet freeze while walking through the cold winter winds. Spring footwear is offered in many different styles from feminine ballet flats and edgy gladiator sandals to casual Converse and comfy sneakers.

This Fashionista went the sporty route in her shoe choice. I spotted her on campus confidently strutting around in her bright, white adidas Superstar sneakers. These old school kicks are making a huge comeback this spring and the perfect example that the style trends of ‘90s is back and here to stay.

Sneakers are such a fun and versatile way to stay comfy in your outfit. The adidas superstar sneakers can be seen all over Instagram and Pinterest from celebrities like Kendall and Kylie Jenner to fashion bloggers around the world. To keep the ‘90s look, pair these sneakers with high-waisted distressed black skinny jeans, a fitted white T-shirt and an oversized denim jacket that is rolled at the cuffs. If you’re going for the more modern route, then combine the fresh sneakers with a pair of boyfriend jeans, a simple white T-shirt and a boxy, black blazer.

This Fashionista created a laid back look with the sneakers, by matching them with dark wash skinny jeans, a basic black T-shirt and a gray knit cardigan. To add detail and give the look a more cozy feel, this Fashionista wore a gray lace bralette underneath her black T-shirt and a layered boho-inspired silver necklace. This Fashionista will be comfy whether she is sitting in a lecture hall or hard at work in the library.

How To: This spring, choose a pair of sneakers that fits your personality. In order to get you from class to class or around town running errands, pair your unique sneakers with a cuffed pair of jeans, a simple T-shirt and a spring jacket to finish off the look. Sneakers don’t have to be just for the gym. Take a cue from this Fashionista and make them part of your everyday outfit!
