Have you ever wondered what goes on after your post is submitted for review? What magic happens with a Style Guide, Grammar Guide and Internship Packet at the ready each week? The Editorial Society is what! These Fashionistas/os are a talented group of editorial wizards and sentence structure enthusiasts.
What are a CollegeFashionista editor’s biggest pet peeves? Serial commas, run-on sentences, using the wrong version of there, their or they’re—and I’m sure other non-grammar related things. So let’s learn more about these grammar nuts and see what else makes them a #RAD addition to the CollegeFashionista gang.
Editor: Alexia Morton
School: University of Massachusetts Lowell
Song you have on repeat: “Photograph” by Ed Sheeran is constantly on repeat!
Dream job: Working full time for CollegeFashionista.com (seriously, what other job could I want?).

Editor: Alissa Virgil
School: University of Arkansas
Favorite magazine/publication: Vogue, Seventeen and Cosmopolitan.
Dream job: In a perfect world I would own my own online clothing store. I would start with designing my own graphic T-shirts. I would take care of all the photo shoots and promotions for my brand, as well. If that got big, then my dreams would go above and beyond making me the next NASTY GAL.
Song you have on repeat: “U Don’t Know” by Alison Wonderland.
Editor: Ally Zacek
School: DePaul University
Favorite magazine/publication: I really dig a lot of the publications from the U.K. and Australia, like RUSSH and Hunger. Of course I love Vogue, but I like to draw inspiration from more art focused magazines that aren’t fully dedicated to just fashion.
Favorite Grammar Rule: I love a good semicolon. When used correctly, I think that they can help vary sentence structure and make writing more interesting.
Last movie you watched: I watched The Overnight, per a friend’s suggestion. It has one star on Netflix, stars Adam Scott and is not for the faint of heart.
Editor: Ami Cornell
School: Mercyhurst University
Dream Job: Stylist to the stars, while writing for Vogue or Condé Nast Travel on the side.
Favorite grammar rule: Seasons should NEVER be capitalized. The lines are blurred on this; I was always confused growing up as to whether or not seasons should be capitalized, so it’s nice to have a definitive answer from CollegeFashionista!
Last movie you watched: The Intern. Anne Hathaway in another fashion boss role and Robert De Niro as her aged intern, what’s not to love?
