Being a ‘90s baby, I feel I was born with an infinite love of denim. I was overjoyed when I saw the Miu Miu fall 2016 ready-to-wear show. The combination of layering with jean fabrics sparked an interest in me, and my love for the technique grew. The belted looks allowed for the body to be defined, and created a beautiful silhouette.
To recreate these looks, I went with a more simplified version. This allowed me to stay true to my style of simplicity, while still representing an aspect of high fashion. The main feature of this look was jean fabric, so I used a jean jacket as a classic addition. I draped the jacket over my shoulders, allowing for a more casual and laid-back look. This followed the theme of the collection in terms of fabrics used, while still containing the layering characteristic. The majority of the looks from this collection were belted, accentuating the waist. I translated this look by wearing a form fitting, tight dress. The collection had all different lengths to the looks, so the knee-length dress was a perfect in-between. To finish off the look, I wore classic, white tennis sneakers.
The jean jacket is AG, which carries on the jean aspect and creates dimension. The dress is from Zara, and mimics the form-fitting silhouette depicted in many of the looks of the collection. The sneakers are from Nike, which allows for a more casual conclusion to the look.
Get My Look: 1. Any jean jacket. 2. A form-fitting dress. 3. A pair of tennis sneakers.
