As many are aware, in New York just because the weather has begun to get warmer and the sun has begun to shine for longer periods of the day, does not mean New Yorkers will stop wearing as much black as their bodies can handle. Black is not considered a seasonal color, but rather a staple color that evolves with every season. Once spring is here, the only thing that changes is the surface area that black clothing covers people and how they chose to style their black. This Fashionista opted for a simple black slip dress, but to accessorize with delicate jewelry and all things gold.
With the madness that March brings, this Fashionista chose a simple, yet chic outfit for her hectic day ahead. The base of the outfit is a simple black slip dress with a lacy bralette peaking out from underneath. However, since the bralette and dress remain pretty neutral and simple they act as a good foundation for the outfit and let the accessories do all the talking. The Fashionista’s outfit has a golden theme for all the accessories, adding a nice sparkle and shine to the outfit and really bringing a simple outfit up a level and ready for spring.
The Fashionista adds dimension to the look by layering delicate gold necklaces and adding rose gold sunglasses. She also added a white-gold, chained cross-body bag with her fluffy pom pom keychain peaking out. Although not all the pieces are the same shade or tone of gold, they all work together to add a variety of subtle sparkle to the outfit without overwhelming or crowding the look with accessories. For shoes, she kept it simple and added some sport white adidas.
How To: This look is super simple to recreate, just find your favorite LBD or all-black outfit and accessorize with all the gold jewelry you want. Add some dainty gold bracelets or necklaces or pair your dress with a cute gold bag or gold-framed sunglasses. Try to keep the emphasis on your amazing gold pieces rather than your ensemble.
