STYLE GURU STYLE: No Pants No Problem

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a number one fan of all things oversized. It was much to my pleasant surprise to discover Iro’s ‘90s grunge-inspired ready-to-wear fall 2016 collection. Aside from my go-to oversized sweater, this collection included many of my favorite trends from pointed-toe heels to harem trousers to mesh tops. Not only that, but over-the-knee boots are trending everywhere at the moment, and I loved seeing how the Bitton brothers, the masterminds behind label, incorporated them within this particular style. The overall color scheme stayed true to ‘90s grunge with dark neutrals with a few pops of red to add surprise and individuality.

With the sun finally showing its face and hues of green peeking up from the ground, I decided to take a break from my regularly programmed dark neutral scheme and instead went with an oversized color-block sweater that I found at a local secondhand store. My favorite feature about this top is the geometric blocks of bright color, which add to its vintage quality.

The Iro collection features sheer tights paired with black over-the-knee boots, but to add my own personal flare, I layered the boots with knit thigh-high socks. Since the sweater was long enough, I decided to skip out on bottoms. No pants, no problem! For those not completely sold on the pantless look, I definitely recommend a mini skirt and loosely tucking in the front of the sweater.

All in all, I can definitely say that I am thankful for recycled trends. Not only do I love this look, but it is probably one of the comfiest outfits I’ve worn. When it comes to oversized sweaters, sacrificing comfort for fashion is no longer an issue.
