Denim has been popular for years and is a staple piece in everyone’s wardrobes. The versatility makes it essential. It can be paired with a nice blouse and heels for a dressy look, or it can be paired with a T-shirt and sneakers for a casual day out. Whether you wear a jean jacket, denim skirt or the classic blue jeans, there is no denying that denim is a major necessity in fashion.
After watching the Miu Miu fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I channeled my inner Miuccia Prada and brought out my denim along with other essentials. The collection covered an array of styling such as: denim jackets, military jackets and ’70s-inspired skirts. With that in consideration, I decided to wear a modern, casual look.
Instead of throwing on a jean jacket, I decided to go for blue jeans. I chose high-waisted boyfriend jeans, because I still wanted an oversized look that the jean jackets displayed on the runway. Not only are boyfriend jeans stylish, but they also offer more comfort than regular jeans. They come in many different styles which allows you to still look unique. If you are looking for a more individual look, buy a pair of oversized jeans and customize them with rips and tears, by using sandpaper.
To add a pop of color, I chose a mustard yellow T-shirt which is the same color as one of the outfits in the collection. It also happens to be a ’70s-inspired color. Then, I added a green military jacket and a pair of white Converse. Although I wanted to be stylish, I still wanted to be comfortable throughout a day out with my friends.
When styling outfits inspired by fashion collections, I always remember to add something special to make the outfit my own. So, I wore a crystal necklace. In fact, I collect crystal necklaces, and I want to show them off in my outfits. Consequently, I make my outfit more unique.
Denim will never go out of style. The pairing options one has for denim are never-ending. Regardless, if you dress them up with heels or dress them down with sneakers, you are sure to look amazing. Denim is here to stay and personally, I like it that way.
