Spring is finally here! When it comes to fashion, this is my personal favorite season to dress for, as it’s not too hot and not too cold. But at the start of the season, getting dressed from day to day can sometimes be difficult. You’re finally able to break out your spring wardrobe staples, but the weather can vary greatly from day to day, sometimes with highs for the week in the 70’s and lows in the 30’s. Some days alone the temperature can vary greatly from when you start your morning to when you’re walking back from your afternoon class. That’s why layering is the key to success in the spring.
This Fashionisto is layered for success. His outfit consists of three layers: an extra long three-fourths sleeve T-shirt with slits on the sides, a lightweight knee length zip-up parka and a slightly heavier knee length collared coat. He pairs this top trio with some ripped jeans to create a modern twist on the white T-shirt and jeans look. He rolls up his jeans to show off his funky fresh socks as he is otherwise neutral in earth tones from head to toe. He carries a leather backpack that doubles as a versatile briefcase, perfecting his student-who-means-business look. This Fashionisto is also not afraid to accessorize, wearing a felt hat and plenty of gold jewelry.
How To: Everyone has layered up their clothing before, but doing so successfully is all in the details. Pairing together layers of similar colors makes your outfit look on point when worn all together, but not as though anything is missing when a layer is shed.
