A very wise human being once said that all that you needed in life was less. For me, spring and summer are the perfect time to keep your outfits as simple as possible. Balenciaga’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection portrays a simplistic, monochromatic and extremely classic set of whites and beiges combinations that make up the perfect effortless outfit.
I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I was a lover of the all-black everything, so I decided to stop being a hater and embrace the all-white (sometimes beige) everything. I took Balenciaga’s collection ,and a tiny little bit of Céline’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection, to craft together a simple, on-the-go, comfortable but cute outfit for a busy day running between classes and work.
I took the layers inspiration from Céline’s collection. Even though it is above 50 degrees, it is still a little cold in Minnesota and matches the color palette from Balenciaga’s collection. I paired up a summer dress and a chunky sweater dress; I bought both items in different occasions and I never imagined they good go well together. The dress made an under-layer for the sweater that made it seem dressier than it actually is. I combined the dresses with a pair of patterned sneakers and a few gold rings.
The outfit went perfectly with my busy day; it made me look relaxed but ready to boss the day around. Having multiple jobs always makes it harder to find an outfit to fit them all and this outfit most definitely did. I am a huge fan of outfits that can dress you up, but never to the point where you overwhelm other people that didn’t feel like dressing up that day.
