The end of the semester is coming quickly upon us, which means the summer season will be here before we know it. As much as I love the warm weather, sometimes summer fashion can become monotonous. Change up your style and choose non-traditional summer looks by looking ahead at the fall runway trends.
I took inspiration from the Louis Vuitton fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection. I was intrigued by the mixing of soft and hard textures, such as beautifully draped dresses with structured jackets. A wide variety of colors and patterns were seen in the collection, the most dominant examples being bold reds, shades of blue and pops of dark yellow. Leather was also a prevalent component seen in Vuitton’s collection, with leather jackets, pants and gloves recurring throughout.
Taking aspects of Vuitton’s fall 2016 collection, I created an edgy and stylish outfit with some basic pieces from my closet. I chose a burgundy swing dress and paired it with a sleek black jacket with leather accents. A loose dress is sure to keep you cool on a hot day, and by pairing it with a leather jacket, you will be all set for those breezy summer nights. To accessorize, I added a long chained necklace and wore classic white Converse sneakers to keep it casual and summery. Fortunately, white sneakers have been very in trend lately, so whether you are walking around a beach town or a busy city, you will be comfortable on your feet all day! If you are looking for a chance to change up your style, then take advantage of the summer days to experiment with mixing different textures and choosing colors outside your usual palette.
