ALL IN THE DETAILS: Another Onesie

Fashionistas and Fashionistos, please excuse this short rant. I love love love tucking in my shirt. Who wouldn’t? Doing so emphasizes the waist, shows off a curvier figure (and creates curves if you want them!) and looks classy for almost any occasion. The one problem with my obsession is the terrible bunching that magically appears just below my waistband and all the lumps and bumps that come with it. Enter the magical onesie. These aren’t for dance class anymore, my darlings! You can find one in almost any style and color. They can make any outfit look just a little more streamlined and fabulous, as evidenced by this Fashionista.

First off, I’d like to comment on her amazing use of neutral colors. Black does not have to be boring and for many of the fashion majors here in Kent, it’s a staple. Black clothing is universally flattering, matches everything and can make a great foundation to set off some fantastic accessories as you all can clearly see here.

What goes even better with black besides more black? Gray! This Fashionista proves how a lighter tone can brighten the mood of her outfit. Plus, how cozy looking is that sweater? I was ready to rip the cardigan from her shoulders so I could curl up in it myself!

Her blue high-waisted jeans are classic. They look even better when cuffed at the ankle to show off a killer pair of wedged booties. I love how simple everything is in this outfit. I also love how sleek the onesie looks with the jeans. No bumps here! And there’s no hope of anything coming untucked. It’s all cozy, comfortable and still stands out when paired with those gorgeous layers of turquoise and silver necklaces. I love it all and I’m so happy I’ve found a way to to tuck into this trend. That pun was definitely intended.

How To: Do your shirts have an issue with staying put? Pick up a onesie! There are so many different styles and ways to wear. I especially love them tucked into a classic pair of jeans. Layer up with a long cardigan and add some necklaces to match!
