In New York, it still hasn’t quite reached that typical spring weather so it is definitely necessary to still wear some sort of light cover over a nice summery top and pair of pants. The boho look is very much in and Madewell has a great way of showing this in their spring ready-to-wear 2016 collection. Their collection consists of denim, neutrals and classic pieces that are super versatile. Their whole show was filled with looks that paired a solid, monochromatic color with denim. Each piece carries a fresh spring look without the overwhelming theme of floral.
I love denim in any form whether it be classic jeans, jean shorts, a jacket or dress. The texture and color of denim can work with anything from a loud and colorful top, to a subdued pencil skirt. One of Madewell’s looks featured a white top with red, detailed embroidery on the arms and neckline. It was paired with a denim skirt and sandals. I took this look and added my own twist on it. In my look I paired a boho-like white top with a pair of denim jeggings. The contrast of the white from the top and blue from the jeans created a classic and spring time look, perfect for the 40-50 degree weather.
I opted for some basic white converse and a light army jacket to pull the whole look together. The simplicity and comfort of this look will have you wanting to stay in spring all year long.
Get My Look: 1. White top. 2. Denim jeans. 3. Light jacket.
