Spring is here; Let the warm weather begin! Spring is my favorite time of year for fashion because I can finally wear dresses and skirts that have been hiding in my closet for the winter. I’m excited to see the spring trends from Fashion Week on my college campus. It’s a great time to experiment with mixing fabrics and layers for the unexpected weather that spring brings.
I took inspiration from Paco Rabanne’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection to incorporate one of my favorite trends—metallics—along with mixing different fabrics to create the perfect springtime look. I love all things shiny, glitter and glam, so Paco Rabanne’s collection really appealed to me with his use of metallic pieces. Another trend seen in his spring 2016 collection is mixing fabrics and textures to create visual interest to the outfit. To incorporate these trends into my outfit, I combined this gold sequin skirt with a staple in my wardrobe, a chambray top. The simple and classic button-down chambray shirt makes the metallic sequin skirt the focal point of this look.
To continue the trend of metallics, I paired this outfit with gold ballet flats, a gold cuff with rhinestone detailing and gold studs. To complete this look, my beige cross-body bag has gold undertones and gold detailing. This look is perfect for a dress-up day on campus or a night put with friends.
