BEAUTY BAR: Bronzed and Bright

It’s time to put away the full coverage foundation and the contour kit! Winter time gives us a chance to experiment with makeup and if you’re like me, you definitely have abused that right. While it can be fun (or frustrating!) to perfect your bold winged eyeliner, it’s time to go a little more minimalist as spring is here and summer is quickly approaching! After all, you don’t want to sweat your face off—literally.

This Fashionista started her makeup routine with a very important first step: an illuminating primer. For those who aren’t obsessed with makeup, a primer is a product that goes directly onto your face, under your foundation. Primers come in many varieties: matte, pore-minimizing, illuminating, among many others. An illuminating primer will give your face an overall natural glow, which is essential to warm-weather makeup! “Winter is all about matte skin. Now that the sun is out, it makes more sense to have a glow to mimic the natural sun,” she said.

Speaking of glow, another important product for these warmer months is bronzer. This Fashionista ditched the contour powder and used a big brush to add plenty of bronzer to her cheeks, perimeter of her face, and under her chin. Like I said, spring and summer makeup is all about glow, and bronzer will add plenty of that—and even a little tan!

Another way to add glow to your face is by using a highlighter. This radiant powder can be applied to the cheekbones, tip of the nose and Cupid ’s bow to lift and brighten your entire face.

For her eyes, this Fashionista opted for champagne eyeshadows. Following the minimalist rule, her eyes are not too bold, but bright and sparkly. As for under her eyes, you guessed it! Bright! By using a concealer that is a few shades lighter than your skin tone, you can achieve an overall bright and highlighted look.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: Not a makeup addict? Don’t worry! You don’t have to go to Sephora and spend hundreds of dollars to recreate this look. Head over to your local drugstore and look for bronzer, highlight, a pink lipstick, and a low coverage foundation!
