In magazines they’re always trying to give you the “color of the season,” the one they say everyone will be wearing and painting their nails and dying their hair. They call it something extravagant: unicorn’s egg blue, below sea level blue, betta fish blue. This season, I have simplified my self-proclaimed “color of the season” and creatively named it for the most extravagant Fashionista: royal blue.
This color looks good on every skin tone and every hair color. It doesn’t wash out the less pigment-inclined or discriminate against an innocent redhead.
This Fashionista shamelessly utilized royal blue as her primary color and her accent color. Her adorable embellished top is the perfect spring staple with turquoise, orange and royal blue beading. She spaced out the business of this top from her lace-up snakeskin sandals with simple dark denim.
To accessorize, this Fashionista married gold and royal blue with statement bracelets. Her royal blue wrap bracelet and gold-studded purse are two-of-a-kind, cautiously complementing the lively shirt.
Adorning her face, the MVP of this upcoming spring season, reflective sunglasses. You won’t find a blogger caught with her mirrored shades down this season. These flirty, young and colorful mirrored lenses have wooed even the highest fashion designers including Dior, Givenchy and Dolce&Gabbana. This pair has clear frames and shiny blue lenses with a fresh beachy appeal.
Everyone has a color they naturally gravitate towards in their wardrobe, because it looks good with their coloring, or they have a lot of it. But, it’s always fun to try a new hue and experiment with color, especially when warmer weather comes around. You may never know that your soulmate of a color is waiting in the wings.
So, break-up with your old color this week and speed (color) date for the week ahead.
