The trend that has been proven to be the one to try has made it from the runway to the streets over the past year. Most of us probably haven’t seen them since our elementary school days but they are back. Culottes were specifically seen at Derek Lam’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear show. While some people may think of this look as outdated or lazy, it is actually really easy to pull off. The wide-leg trouser portrays a comfortable and cool look. While they come in all types of fabrics, cool off with a pair of light denim culottes to kick off the summer.
The pair I’m wearing, a grab from Forever 21, is my new favorite pair of pants to throw on. In a rush? Culottes. Going to a BBQ in the Hamptons? Culottes. Walking around the mall? Culottes. This trend could be for any occasion you wish. I paired my denim culottes with a linen white top, my new favorite Dolce Vita yellow lace up sandals, a brown bucket bag and added my Dior SoReals sunglasses for a little bit of edge.

Since the runways have featuring culottes in the past few seasons of Fashion Week, all of the main retailers have finally been putting them on the racks. I can’t wait to live in my culottes all summer!
