I spent a solid 12 hours writing, illustrating and then binding a children’s book for my Literature for the Young Child class. I am beat; but this is just the beginning of finals. I still have another week or so of gut-wrenching panic where I always feel like I’ve forgotten something—and I most likely have. A stroll around campus does not happen anymore. Instead, one darts from class to class, hoping that the faster they walk, the faster it will be over.
This Fashionista caught my eye in the mayhem after class left out. She was cool and collected and heading home for the day. Her leather hat, leggings, comfy white T-shirt and army green jacket made her look casual-chic. The oversized bag resting in the crook of her arm showed off her simple and stylish watch, so she can easily flash her eyes at the time as classes seem to zoom or drag by.
What particularly caught my attention were her white Steve Madden slip-on sneakers. I have the same pair in rose gold. I knew the level of comfort she was coasting in. To top off her refined athleisure look, she had simple eye makeup and a dark mauve matte lip. This Fashionista wasn’t gonna let finals affect fashion. In fact, nothing ever should.
One Simple Change: In order to spruce up this look and take it from day to night, this Fashionista can switch out the hat for a glitzy headband and the sneakers for some wedges. Layer a few necklaces over the shirt and she’s ready for a night out with the girls.
