From everyday looks, to Coachella must-haves, to the red carpet, chokers seem to be the newest trend. Everywhere you look, chokers are making a comeback. However, there is a wide range of chokers to choose from. There are chunky, gothic looking choker, small string chokers, dainty chain chokers and the good old fifth grade black choker. I’m sure you all know which one I’m talking about!
This Fashionista rocks a silver, flat band choker out and around town. She pairs this choker with another chunky necklace to give her outfit a little more edge! She absolutely nails the layering game here! Never be afraid to layer chokers with other necklaces.
Your choice of choker really depends on the rest of your outfit, as well as your personal style! Do you want something dark and edgy or more soft and angelic? I try to pair darker colored outfits with darker chokers, like our Fashionista did. Her darker silver choker adds to her chic, black ensemble. I save the more dainty, gold chokers for outfits with earthy, natural tones and neutral colors.
How To: Chokers seem a little daunting at first, but once you see your whole ensemble, choker and all, you will not be able to go without it! I suggest you plan your outfit first, and then start seeing which choker looks best with your look. Remember, layering necklaces and chokers is ALWAYS an option, too. The more the merrier! Just a little tip: try to avoid mixing gold and silver chains and necklaces as much as possible to try and keep your look consistent!
