I think my favorite thing about 2016 fashion is that it is not 2016 fashion. The ’90s are back and better than ever. One of my favorite ’90s trends is denim on denim, and this Fashionista went all out. Denim on denim is such a timeless look, whether it is a denim skirt, a pair of boyfriend jeans, a jean jacket or a jean vest. Denim automatically takes you back in time while also creating that effortlessly cool look we all strive for. The great thing about this look is that you can choose pretty much any two washes of denim and it will work well.
This Fashionista went for a darker distressed jean on bottom with a lighter wash patterned jacket on top. There are so many different patterned denim jackets to choose from these days. I love the versatility that the two washes bring to the look. Another thing that makes this trend the one to go for is the freedom that it allows for shoes to make a statement. You can dress the look up with a fun, strappy heel or keep it casual like this Fashionista did with a classic sneaker. The options are almost endless as far as accessories go, as long as you stick to the heart of the look, which is the denim piece on bottom paired with the denim piece on top. Now go rock that denim, babes!
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “The denim on denim look is perfect because it gives cute pieces a bit of an edge.”
