Hi there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Abigail Chhabra and I am so excited to be given this wonderful opportunity to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I am a junior at California State University Long Beach where I am majoring in marketing with a minor in fashion merchandising.
My love for fashion and beauty started at the mere age of three. As a ballerina, I was constantly in the spotlight with extravagant, sparkly tutus and glittery makeup. Even as a little girl, I would much rather over-dress for an occasion than under-dress. While I love dressing up, I also love spending time at my happy place—the beaches in sunny California. Just take me to the beach and I will show you the definition of joy.
Fashion is such a beautiful form of self expression that I could never slap a label on my personal style. I have never restricted my style to a single thing because I never want to get stuck in a bubble. I love adventures and that translates to my personal style as well. My style varies from day to day based on my current mood. One day I am dark and grunge and the next I am preppy and bohemian. However, a few things that have remained constant in all of my looks are my matte lips, statement necklaces and midi rings.
Although I love the color black, because let’s face it, we all want to look slimmer, I find myself drawn to bright colors that make an outfit pop. My favorites are coral, mint green and yellow. I am all about the aesthetics, which is where my obsession over taking a good flatlay comes into play. I also have this weird obsession over anything that is wood or marble (hence my Instagram name, Marblelously Petite).
Though I love dressing and feeling like a million bucks, I believe that I do not have to spend my entire paycheck on a mere piece of a clothing item to do so. I am all about looking good at an affordable price. In this look, I am spotting a dreamy floral romper, a pair of gray booties with wrap-around tassels and a coral purse—all totaling to under 100 dollars.
I am excited that you will be joining me on a fashion exploration and discovery this RAD summer. I look forward to creating content that will hopefully inspire your fashion style.
