Hi everyone! My name is Rachel and I’ll be a junior at Virginia Commonwealth University this year! At school I’m studying fashion merchandising and public relations with the dream of one day working for a luxury fashion brand. This will be my second semester being a Style Guru and I couldn’t be more excited! Summer is my favorite time when it comes to both fun and fashion. There’s nothing I love more than biking on the beach, reading by the pool and of course making s’mores by the bonfire. But besides all the beach trips and ice cream, warm weather brings us bright colors and tons of fun footwear that I look forward to capturing and sharing with you all.
In addition to interning for CollegeFashionista this summer, I’ll be studying fashion merchandising in Florence, Italy! I can’t wait to experience all of the fun summertime styles overseas has to offer and see how the trends vary from one country to another.
When it comes to my personal style, shoes and accessories are by far my favorite part of any look. I generally stick to a solid colored, basic outfit and then pair it with a cute pair of shoes and dramatic jewelry. Bold chunky necklaces like the one in my look are my absolute favorite to wear with a basic outfit because they’re eye-catching and easy to throw on. Then, to complement my statement piece I always add some simple rings and beaded bracelets to tie everything together. Although there’s nothing I love more than a wedge or high-heel, a chunky heel mule is my go-to summertime shoe, because it’s flirty and gives you a little height without looking overdone.
