Hello, fellow Fashionistas! My name is Casey Nalley, and I am from the Cincinnati area. I just completed my sophomore year at the University of Kentucky, majoring in writing, rhetoric and digital media. Even though I’m not studying an area in fashion, I am beyond thrilled to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this summer!
I have maintained a great love for fashion since I was very young. A lot of my fashion inspiration comes from other Fashionistas’ street style that I see every day and the styles of my friends and idols. I love to end my days with a warm mug of tea, as I carefully piece together tomorrow’s outfit. I take pride in my style and feel more prepared for the day when I leave my home wearing the perfect outfit.
I spend a lot of my summer days working as an intern at a local law firm, where I get the chance to see fashion styles and trends in the business world. When I am not working, I can often be found at a local mall or coffee shop or gracing the halls of my city’s art museum.
My personal style is an amalgamation of various trends. In the spring and summer, I tend to gravitate toward bold and bright colors. Mini dresses and sandals are a common staple for my spring looks. During the warmer months, I lean more towards comfort, such as the high-waisted shorts, striped ringer T-shirt and pair of shades pictured above. Fall and winter are when I thrive, wearing my favorite looks of dark colors, spikes and studs. Each look is incomplete without a bit of glitz. I love to pair things up with simple pieces, often in gold. I also grew up with a great appreciation for beauty trends. My mother is a beauty consultant and keeps me up to date with the latest looks. I love a good eye shadow palette and have a weakness for bold lip colors.
I am so excited to start my journey as a Style Guru and to share my love for fashion with others.
