This summer marks my third semester with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru as well as my second semester with the editorial team and dare I say, I’m even more excited this time around! This is in part due to my summer plans, which involve interning in New York City at both Yumi Kim and Timo Weiland. I cannot wait to explore my favorite city in the world, which is a major hub for all of the things I love including theatre, art and of course, fashion! I am looking forward scoping the city streets to find inspiration in the Fashionistas/os, the city’s architecture and the pulse that fuels the city that doesn’t sleep.
When I’m not fulfilling my internship duties, I am looking forward to finding new spots to brunch, trying different coffee shops and hopefully sightseeing with my fellow Style Gurus! I am an avid music lover to the extent that I pay for Spotify Premium so I also hope to be able to catch some summer concerts and discover new artists. Of course, there are countless shopping days in my plans and I cannot wait to shop at the physical building versions of the stores that I frequent online such as Topshop and Zara in addition discovering new small boutiques. Basically, this summer is all about discoveries and me trying new things to make sure I make the most of the opportunities that I have been given. I want to leave no regrets behind!
My style really evolves and changes in waves. Currently, I have been wearing (a little less) of my go-to color which is black and instead I have been gravitating towards bright colors and pastels. Living in Wisconsin really makes you appreciate warm weather and being able to wear shorts while you can. I actually purchased this colorful pair of floral shorts from Express a few months back when there was still snow on the ground, so I am happy that I can wear them comfortably at last. This crop top is one of my favorites from my collection with its sophisticated shape and neckline.
For accessories, I wear chokers almost every single day. I love how they add a simple yet edgy touch to all of my outfits. For shoes, I opted for these lace-up flats in a nude color. These are great because you can tie them so many ways and create a bunch of different looks! I am all about versatility with my accessories because I love being able to exercise my creativity in fashion.
Stay tuned for my adventures and fashion discoveries in the Big Apple! Here’s to a RAD summer!
