Hey there! My name is Katie Magiafas and I am a rising senior at the University of South Carolina. I am majoring in retail with an emphasis in fashion merchandising. This summer is my first time being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be more excited! I am also interning with a new company called Greekeys for the summer. I am from just outside of Washington, D.C. and love that there is always something going on in the city. I haven’t exactly decided what I want to do in the fashion world after graduation, but I do know I want a job that will enable me to travel internationally.
I agree with Rachel Zoe when she says “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” My style is more on the casual side with a couple of trendy pieces thrown in. I feel most confident in any soft top or oversized sweater, a good pair of jeans and cute shoes. My favorite accessories are my rings that I wear everyday.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me at any coffee shop. Good coffee makes for a good day. I’ll probably have my laptop in front of me watching my favorite Netflix shows, 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation, or just finding new bloggers with fun and interesting articles.
I full heartedly admit that I am a social media junkie. I am always on my phone refreshing my Twitter and Instagram feeds. I love seeing thought-out Instagram feeds and finding new people to follow. Fashion in pop culture plays a huge part in my life. After every major event or award show you bet I’m lurking on the internet to see who wore what and what designer made the outfit.
With all this being said, I cannot wait to share this summer semester with CollegeFashionista!
