Hi there! I’m Electa Royal, and I am a senior fashion design major with a double minor in costume design and sustainability at Kent State University. My life is driven by creativity and the ability to express myself through any medium.
I’m very passionate about sustainable fashion and LOVE thrift stores. My closet is primarily second-hand or vintage clothing. I aim to express myself through clothing while also making a sustainable impact on the industry and encouraging others to do the same for the future of fashion.
Because my closet is so diverse, so is my style. One day you might see me in all black and the next in pastels. My style is constantly changing as I am inspired. I am currently obsessed with leather, whether it’s shorts, jackets or accessories. The faux leather shorts I’m wearing can be styled with a button-down blouse for a classy look, or a basic T-shirt like I’ve done here for a grunge look. My bronze gladiator sandals give this look a warrior feel, while also keeping it feminine.
One of my favorite things to do is travel. I have studied abroad in Florence, Italy and I will be returning to Europe this summer. This time, I will be staying in Paris, France. It will be my third time in the city of love and I can’t wait to be inspired by the street fashion there. When I’m not traveling or in the studio designing, you can find me modeling on the runway or in front of a camera. I also enjoy driving around listening to music, while searching for my next adventure.
This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I’m very excited to share my personal style, as well as the styles of those that I encounter during my summer adventures!
Keep Slaying!
