It’s finally summer! Which means back to New Jersey, no Alabama humidity until August. For the first time in twelve years I’m not dancing all hours of the day for five weeks straight. Yes that’s right, I traded out my pointe shoes for cowboy boots when I decided to step off the stage and into the world of fashion at the University of Alabama
“Why Alabama?” you might ask. With the best football team in the country, the warm southern air and the food, how could I resist the urge to shout “ROLL TIDE!” every Saturday, or should I say every day in Tuscaloosa? Being a part of the Apparel and Textiles program at Alabama was one of the most adventurous and life-changing decisions I’ve made thus far.
Moving from being an hour away from New York City, to the middle of Alabama has impacted my style greatly in many different ways. Depending on the season, my style ranges from dark, monochromatic and simple looks for both the fall and winter, to girly floral patterns and lots of pastel tones for the summer.
Here, I am sporting an off-the-shoulder flowy pale pink top from Forever 21, my favorite Design Lab white flare jeans from Lord and Taylor, new ankle strap wedges from Charlotte Russe, my go-to dainty gold choker from Brandy Melville, and the lovely rose colored satchel from Lulu’s. Obviously, I’m a sucker for a good bargain and I have always preach that affordable fashion wins.
So yes, this retired ballerina, aspiring fashionista, Princeton-raised and Tuscaloosa-living girl is here to show you my many sides of fashion. From my New York edgy-inspired streetwear, to my southern bohemian, feminine outfits, I am ever so eager to show you what I, and the rest of Princeton has to offer this summer!
