A big hello and thank you to all the fashionable people out there who have found their way to my first ever post as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! My name is Katya Anleu and I am a junior at Florida State University majoring in retail merchandising and product development with a minor in French. My passion for fashion follows me all around campus, whether it’s to my 8:00 a.m. class or to the gym, my fashion radar, like many college students, never sleeps. I am home in South Florida for the summer, which means I get to see all my fashionable hometown friends and keep you posted on what trends are cool for the summer!
When I was six years old, I moved from my home country Guatemala to South Florida. Thanks to the multi-cultural ambiance down there I soon became fascinated by different cultures and traditions. Since then I have been lucky enough to travel extensively though Europe, Asia, South America and North America. A semester before starting college I took six months off and moved to Paris, France where I worked as an au pair. Being in the fashion capital of the world, I had the opportunity to attend events like Paris Fashion Week and designer exhibitions!
Vibrant colors and authenticity inspire my boho-chic style, which you can see from these pictures. My current summer obsession is a basic T-shirt dress. Not only do T-shirt dresses allow you to accessorize from head to toe, but also there is no need to worry about matching pants (two in one my friends, two in one). I have paired this T-shirt dress with my all time favorite coin detailed statement necklace from the one of a kind Pachamama Bohemian boutique. Nothing speaks louder than a well decorated neck this summer… unless you count my year-round obsession with platform shoes. Who doesn’t love a little pep or in this case height in their step? These particular shoes I found in a store in Buenos Aires, Argentina about two years ago, and if I’d known how important they would become to my every day life, I would’ve bought at least nine others! Last but not least, I have chosen to share with you a treasured piece: my cosmetic indie clutch. There is nothing more fashionable than a unique clutch that ultimately pulls your outfit together.
I think it’s safe to say that I am a fashion enthusiast who has been highly influenced by exotic adventures and travels from around the world!
