Hello fellow Style Gurus, style fanatics and all around trend setters. My name is Kaitlyn Freiling, and I am a junior at Kent State University majoring in fashion merchandising and minoring in photo illustration. I am a strong believer in “look good, feel good” when it comes to fashion. I know personally, when I am dressed in a stylish outfit, I feel motivated and confident to take on whatever is being thrown in my direction. That’s not to say that you can’t be causal and comfortable. I have come to see more style icons find fabulous ways to dress up even the most casual wear in a trendy, yet versatile way.
Fashion should be engaged through all angles; make your own mark, don’t be afraid to change things and set new trends. With that being said, don’t hesitate to step back and observe what those around you have created or styled. One of the greatest things about fashion is that it is always evolving and innovating. No matter how much fashion knowledge you believe you already have, there is always something new and different to learn. Perspective is the key of fashion; be aware that it could be one garment or a whole collection being viewed, every person will see it a little different. Fashion is one of the indirect social movements, embodying everything in our past, present and future.
I am an aspiring fashion photographer/stylist. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved being behind, as well as in front of the camera. I love capturing fashion into photos, from the every day lives of people to more fantasy photos. It is such a spacious environment for creativity and continuous exploration. I hope to not only provide the fashion world with my own insight, but to gain knowledge and perspective from the current (as well as past and future) fashion world.
