After reading How to be Parisian Wherever You Are, I just had to unleash my inner Parisian. Although I am practically only six percent French (from my mother’s side of the family) and was only a mere five years old the the last time I visited Paris, I crossed my fingers and hoped that it would count!
This endeavor was easier than I had imagined as I found the French girl way of living to have, what some may call, a certain je ne sais quoi. Just like Parisians, I have always loved to keep my lifestyle simple yet chic. When it comes to dressing, I feel as though less is more. I tend to pair solid colored pants or jeans with a solid colored top. Because I do not let this limit me, I manage to mix it up a little with my current obsessions: silk scarves, chokers and small shoulder-bags.
Thanks to my father’s career, I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to travel and grow up around the world. I moved from the United States to Germany, returned to the States, and then moved to England. Moving around opened my eyes to other cultures and ways of life that taught me more than I could have dreamed of. I eventually moved back to the States and now reside in Georgia. I attend the University of Georgia where I study Advertising and Fashion Merchandising. Upon graduating, I plan to pursue a career at Condé Nast with high hopes of someday working for the Advertising Department at Vogue. Eventually, I want to spread awareness and start a sustainable and fair trade high-fashion clothing line.
I guess some people would call me a dreamer, and some would also say that I am extremely ambitious. Therefore, I do not fancy settling for less! I believe that life is too short to not agree with the Faux Pas of “Taking yourself too seriously” from the wise words of How to be Parisian Wherever You Are.
