Hello College Fashionistas/os! My name is Mollina So and I am a Sophomore at Kent State University majoring in fashion merchandising with a double minor in sustainability and marketing. My dream job is to work in visual merchandising with J.Crew. I am so excited to continue writing for CollegeFashionista this summer because I fell in love with it during the spring semester!
Fashion has always been a major part of my life since I was young. I always wanted to recreate outfits from Disney movies and strived to have a closet just like the celebrities on MTV Cribs. As I got older and those dreams of a huge walk-in closet stayed a dream, fashion became less important to me and throughout high school I decided to become a doctor instead. But my senior year of high school I found my love for fashion again and decided to leave my small town in Kansas to go to school at Kent State and pursue a dream in something I really love. This has taught me that fashion is so much more than clothing pieces, it brings people together and is a way for people to interact and express themselves.
My style has transitioned so much throughout the years. I went through every sort of phase that you could imagine, from only wearing pink all of the time to only wearing band T-shirts and skinny jeans. Looking back it is amazing to me about how styles have evolved over time and have made a reappearance. My style now is simple, classic and minimal. I prefer wearing neutral colors and minimal accessories. But to make my outfits less boring I love unique silhouettes and details such as cutouts and intricate embroidery. I would live in this long sleeve wrap top and embroidered shorts every day if I could and this hat is perfect for bad hair days.
I cannot wait to see what awesome articles are in store to read from fellow Fashionistas/os. I am even more excited write more of my own articles. It is going to be a wonderful summer!
