Hey Fashionistas! My name is Morgan Green and I’m a senior at Temple University. While exploring the ‘City of Brotherly Love,’ I study journalism and public relations and hope to one day be a real life Olivia Pope. I’m excited to have you along with me while I make my mark here at CollegeFashionista!
Although I currently reside in Philadelphia, I was born and raised right outside of Baltimore. Since moving to Philadelphia, I feel that I have truly grown into myself. In doing so, I have developed a different style and look for myself. Living in Philadelphia has given me the opportunity to be exposed to many trend-setters. Some of my favorite Instagram bloggers include Julie Sarinana (@sincerelyjules,) Danielle Bernstein (@weworewhat) and Chiara Ferragni (@chiaraferragni.)
It would be nearly impossible for me to label or put a phrase as an overarching theme for my style. My style is always changing and I never tend to stick to one look. If I like a piece, I like it – no explanation. I love neutrals and pops of colors. I love basics and prints. I love casual and formal. I’m the type of girl who’s always on the go, so I like to shop for clothing that is both interesting and versatile for any occasion. Along with being a full-time student, I am a part of organizations like student government and I work part-time. The clothing that I step out of the door in the morning in has to get me through the day no matter the event.
During this time of year, in the midst of the Philadelphia spring and summer, I tend to stick to dresses as much as possible. Wearing dresses (especially ones that show a little skin) are a great way to be comfortable and look flirty at the same time! The dress that I’m wearing is very versatile. It can be dressed down for the day as well as dressed up for a night time look. The accents of the olive greens, creams and yellows of the dress go perfectly for a summer bronze glow. Adding texture is similar to color blocking and is a great way to add style to a look. Wedges like the ones that I’m wearing in these pictures can add to the maturity of your look. As for jewelry, I love adding golds whenever possible. I completed this look with dainty gold earrings and my favorite chunky Marc Jacobs bangle bracelet. Gold jewelry reflects the sun and looks great on all skin tones—something about it just gives you that extra bronze glow!
Ultimately, you’ll be most confident in pieces that you love. I hope that I can be a source of inspiration for some of your exciting adventures this summer.
