When I saw the Chloé fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I immediately fell in love. This new line featured a lot of trends popular during the ‘70s, chiffon blouses and dresses with bell sleeves, sleek leather pieces and silk scarves. The collection combined delicate, flowing boho dresses with edgy ensembles such as this motorcycle pants and jacket set which all existed within an earthy, sophisticated color palette. The overall effect created by these looks was the coexistence of power and femininity, putting a modern twist on retro style.
In order to translate these trends into my look, I searched for different textures and deep purples, gentle pinks and nudes to mimic the color palette used in this collection. I opted for a baby pink off-the-shoulder chiffon blouse paired with dark magenta velveteen leggings, both made of materials which were commonly used during the experimental and bohemian style of the ‘70s. In order to give this look an authoritative boost, I paired the top and pants with nude suede pump booties.
When it comes to accessories, for this look simplicity is key. I wore minimalistic silver rings with a single small glass jewel and did not wear any bracelets, because the detail in the sleeves of the blouse already accents the hands and wrists. To accessorize the top, I chose a single asymmetrical Lucky Brand necklace with different earth-toned beads and charms. Minimal nude makeup and loose, wavy hair completed this look.
Get My Look: 1. Any chiffon blouse. 2. Crushed velveteen leggings. 3. A long bohemian necklace. 4. High-heeled tan booties.
