Having an assortment of outerwear is a true staple for my wardrobe. Depending on the season, I love wearing trench coats, leather, denim and bomber jackets. I think that they add an element to an outfit and creates a more fashionable look. My love for different outerwear pieces definitely came from spending time in Europe. I’ve discovered that there are so many different ways to style outerwear and create a new look for yourself by using the same piece.
Taking inspiration from the Balenciaga fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I styled a typical outfit for myself that I would wear on an average day. Balenciaga’s collection consisted of an array of outerwear pieces for all seasons. Some of the trends included were: zippers, high necks, the oversized fit and off-the-shoulder looks.
I based this look around my army green bomber jacket from Bershka Collection that I purchased in the Netherlands. Bershka is one of my newly found favorite stores and I highly recommend checking them out online. Underneath the bomber jacket, I wore a mock neck striped long sleeve from Forever 21. I absolutely love how high neck pieces look underneath different types of jackets, which is exactly what Balenziaga featured! As for bottoms, I decided to wear my slightly distressed jeans from Zara. They are very comfy and add a casual vibe to the look. To complete my outfit, I used my reversible cross-body bag from Urban Outfitters, and wore a pair of white Birkenstocks.
