Converse are always a great way to give your outfit a classic retro look. I love the challenge of taking a great fashionable outfit and making it work with a worn-in pair of Converse. A convenient factor for Fashionistas is that vintage is always in, so pull something out of your mom’s wardrobe and I guarantee you can make it work.
Marc Jacobs’ spring 2016 ready-to-wear runway looks are just the inspiration a ’90s chick needs. I took a style from the past and modernized it, just as Marc Jacobs does with his spring 2016 collection. His color palette stays within a patriotic theme—this is where I got my inspiration to use a pop of red in my outfit. The pop of red is exactly what my outfit needed since my colors stay pretty neutral with black, white and denim.
Denim goes great with anything; even denim on denim is coming back in style. Marc Jacobs shows denim in his collection with jean jackets which is another way to pull off a vintage look. His use of red, white and blue with denim inspired me for my most recent outfits, especially with Memorial Day just passing.
My outfit includes a white graphic T-shirt from H&M and a distressed pair of boyfriend jeans from Zara. Both pieces are very basic so I dressed it up with a big silver statement necklace from Forever 21 and added a splash of color with my red Converse.
Get My Look: 1. Basic T-shirt. 2. Boyfriend jeans. 3. Silver necklace. 4. Red Converse.
