Summer has just begun! To kick it off, I decided to focus on a look centered around both color and comfort. My mom always tells me that beauty is pain (kind of as a joke), but if I’m being honest, I only wear pieces of clothing that can be worn for at least six hours and that won’t leave me feeling like I’m dying at the end of the day. I’m a fast-paced girl with a hectic schedule, and I don’t have time to feel uncomfortable!
For this look, I gathered my inspiration from Etro’s resort 2017 collection. I found myself drawn to the mixing of patterns and how vibrant and colorful the pieces are. The textures and colors really resonated with me, and I knew it would be a fun challenge to try and work this style into my own wardrobe.
I decided to combine a knit, off-white tank top with a pair of loosely fitting tribal print pants. I complemented this outfit with an eclectic pair of earrings and sandals. Mostly, I wanted to convey the feel of this collection while incorporating my own sense of comfort. It’s going to be a hot summer, and I want to wear as few layers as possible! With my bright hair, subtle makeup and combination of colors and textures, I felt that I was really able to do this collection justice and still be myself. At the end of the day, the most important part about fashion is how it represents who you are.
While I have to admit that I actually thrifted my tank top and pants and found my earrings at a local art festival, this look is still super easy to recreate! Knit tank tops and loosely fitting, patterned pants can be found in just about any store selling women’s clothing. I would also really encourage everyone to take advantage of your local thrift stores! Thrifting is an awesome way to make shopping into a creative adventure and it forces you to think outside the box with your fashion sense. Plus, is there anything better than finding designer jeans for $4?
