I love formal wear. So it is only natural for me to be drawn to couture collections. My favorite at the moment is the spring 2016 Zuhair Murad collection. This collection is full of gorgeous gowns and jumpers that appeared almost magical. The models strutted the runway in white, pale gray and coral dresses, corsets and structured skirts. The designer was not shy to using many kinds of lace to make these lavish pieces.
A lot of the white designs have long lace sleeves. One particular look included a blazer with a sheer and lace bodice. I was so inspired by the white pieces in the line and chose to transform the look into my own personal style. To go along with the theme, I chose to pair all-white items. My pants are white denim from Akira. They’re really stretchy so they don’t become uncomfortable to wear throughout the day. They’re also lightweight enough for the summer sun.
The blazer I chose to pair with the jeans is a white lace blazer. This structured blazer is sheer and lace, which are very similar to the Zuhair Murad pieces. It is detailed with four buttons on the back with two on each side that assist in creating a peplum effect. This is my absolute favorite blazer ever.
The models in the Zuhair Murad show wore silver strappy heels, but that’s just not feasible for an everyday look. Since most of the items were sheer, the flesh tone of the models peaked through the white lace. This influenced my choice to choose a neutral colored Steve Madden pump to finish off this look.
I hope I did Zuhair Murad justice!
