Now that summer is here, some of you may be feeling the need to purge your closets of all winter clothing. However, before you make that trip to Plato’s Closet, think about how you still may be able to use your favorite winter items this summer. Not every second of your summer will be spent outside in the sun, and for the moments where the usual shorts and a tank top outfit is not going to cut it, those few winter items will come in handy.
What caught my eye about this Fashionista’s outfit is how effortless, yet stylish it was. She was on her way to lunch on a rainy day, and her outfit made me wish for more rain just so I could recreate it! Sometimes it can be hard to find the motivation to wear anything other than leggings and a T-shirt on rainy days. However, this Fashionista proved to us that the rain just provides an opportunity to dig deeper into your closet and create a look you haven’t tried on before.
The first thing I noticed about this outfit was the combination of the sweater, which is from her grandmother’s closet, and the ripped jeans. These two items are for two different seasons that were paired together perfectly and topped off with just the right accessories: her black hat, black booties and black cross-body bag. Under the sweater, she wore a simple white tank with just enough flair to allow her to take off her sweater and wear the tank on its own. Since, there could be a sudden change in weather.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Every time I go to pick out what I’m wearing, I start with one item and go from there. I knew that I wanted to wear this sweater and I let the sweater inspire everything else. If you start with a blank slate, you might just end up staring at your closet for an hour. Having an item to focus on allows you to pick everything else based off what you started with.”
