ALL IN THE DETAILS: Colors of Fall

The end of summer is quickly approaching—gone are the days of midnight bonfires and mornings by the pool. Fear not, for the best season, fall, is upon us. Every Fashionista has been preparing for this season since the runway shows last spring. Innovating new trends and displaying new color palettes as beautiful as the autumn leaves is what gives life to any wardrobe. This fall, take notes from the Fashionista above on how to incorporate the season’s latest hues.

Every season The Pantone Color Institute releases a color palette that is to influence the world of fashion and design; this season, Pantone’s fall 2016 Fashion Report includes colors such as riverside, sharkskin, airy blue, aurora red, dusty cedar, warm taupe, lush meadow, spicy mustard and bodacious. The Fashionista captured above incorporated three of the colors from the report: sharkskin, riverside and warm taupe.

The Fashionista chose a short sleeve button-up top with a micro pattern that adds an element of chic. Notice the option of tucking in the top or tying it up to add a unique touch. The short sleeve top is perfect for the transition from sweltering summer afternoons to chilly autumn mornings. The deep blue gives a sense of tranquility and strength, the ability to take on any task successfully.

The suede skirt in warm taupe complements the dark hues of the top. The buttons on the skirt create a clean line. She chose a pair of high top sneakers that embody the athleisure trend, perfect for the long commute across campus. The sneakers also are a sharkskin gray, a staple color this season.

How To: This fall, the color palette is different than in years past. This season is about unexpected colors becoming staple pieces in a Fashionista’s wardrobe. Find staple pieces like a suede skirt or chiffon blouse in vibrant colors like aurora red or spicy mustard. Prepare for fall nights with a jacket in airy blue.
