Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos! As I sit here writing this article, it hits me that it’s incredibly crazy how long I’ve been a part of CollegeFashionista! Since I’m starting my junior year this semester at the University of Missouri – Columbia, this will be the start of my eighth semester as a Style Guru! That is absolutely insane!
Joining CollegeFashionista the summer before my freshman year of college, I had no idea how much that decision would impact my college career for the better. Over the course of the last few years at college, I have been able to watch my writing style flourish, make so many connections and really embrace my style without holding back. There are so many reasons why I’m so passionate about CollegeFashionista but those are just a few of them.
This summer, I came back to the United States after spending six months studying abroad in Spain. The fashion and styles in Europe are so different than the outfits I would wear in the U.S., so I came back from my time abroad a changed woman. I feel like I can take more fashion risks now than ever before, and I’m not afraid to get out of my comfort zone…to the point that now I absolutely love wearing funky things out and about. My daily uniform usually consists of some adidas Superstars and a jumper dress. It’s a little outside the norm of my campus’ typical outfits, but I can’t get enough of the style.
Since I go to a University where campus outfits look like Nike shorts and an athletic tank (don’t get me wrong, I love a good pair of Nike shorts!), I am really trying my best to stand out and make a statement this semester! Follow along on my journey here on CollegeFashionista, on my lifestyle blog, or on my Instagram where I’m one of CollegeFashionista’s Social Media interns!
