Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Ariana Sneed, I am 21 years old, and I am a graduate from Genesee Community College with my associate’s degree in Fashion Merchandising and Management. I am currently earning my bachelor’s degree in Fashion Marketing and internal trades within the fashion industries at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). This is my second semester as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista.
Fashion blogging and fashion styling are two of my biggest forms of self expression, but I gravitate towards anything creative from a wide genre of music like big band/swing to explicit rap to indie music. Street art (also known as graffiti) is one of my favorite forms of art: I find the composition from concrete to art is exquisite. Fashion will always be my first love and favorite form of creativity and art. Like Iris Apfel Once said, “Personal style is innovative yet intimate. It’s a reflection of your aesthetic, beliefs, who you stand for and the relationship you have with the world. It has the power to speak volumes about you without having to vocalize a thing.”
Pictured: I’m wearing a blush faux fur jacket on top of a white crop top and high waisted black leggings. A rose gold watch and bangle are the icing on the cake. This outfit is paying homage to London and ’70s chic fashion. My overall style is generally very minimalist, with a twist of decade styling (styling/planning an ensemble around a time period or era). Only wearing neutral colors such as black, white, and grey is what helps keep my minimalism well-balanced and occasionally adding light colors as a plot twist.
It is so thrilling to continue my role as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista in a city as artistic and liberating as New York City. I’m determined to make this semester with CollegeFashionista monumental, as well as a fantastic first semester at F.I.T (Fashion Institute of Technology).
