Hey everyone! My name is Alexa and I am very excited to have been chosen to be a Style Guru for the fall 2016 internship program. I am currently starting my sophomore year at the University of Delaware, majoring in fashion merchandising. I grew up on Long Island, and often get asked why I did not choose FIT for college, but Delaware has become like my second home; I do not regret the decision in the slightest. My favorite things to do in my free time are hang out with my best friends, watch Netflix—Friday Night Lights and Stranger Things!—and shop of course! In the summer, you can catch me poolside at Smith Point Beach or at the mall.
I have had a love for fashion for as long as I can remember. I get a thrill from shopping, which is not always a good thing according to my bank account. I love being able to find an occasion for every outfit I own. I think it is so cool being able to change your shoes or the accessories you are wearing, and having the outfit completely change. For instance, the outfit I am wearing can be dressed up with heels or booties, or dressed down with sneakers, like the ones I am wearing. It makes my day when one of my friends asks me for fashion advice because then I know they appreciate my opinion and style.
