Hello! My name is Carolyn DiFabio and I am a sophomore at James Madison University studying architectural design. My favorite things in life are dogs, my closest friends, my family and the color yellow.
I am so excited to be starting this internship, which will allow me to think more creatively when it comes to fashion and photography. I have always been a creative person and fashion is just one of the many ways I get to express my creativity. From the first time I stepped into a Forever 21 and explored all of the vast possibilities that I could add to my wardrobe, I was hooked. Once I started wearing all of these new clothes to school and getting compliments on my outfits it gave me the confidence that I needed to try different styles. I have never been the loudest or most talkative person in a room, however, fashion has allowed me to express myself without words. If I ever feel a drop in my confidence, I will make sure to take a little longer on my hair and makeup and pick out an outfit that I feel my best in. It is amazing how a 20-dollar dress from Forever 21 can make you feel like a million dollars. That’s what I love about fashion. You don’t have to break the bank to feel good in what you are wearing and with freedom in fashion you can be whoever you want to be.
This semester I plan to come out of my comfort zone by taking on this internship and the role of a Style Guru while also taking risks with the clothes I choose to wear. The most important rule to remember is to always dress for yourself and wear what makes you feel the best even if it is not someone else’s style.
I can’t wait to explore the world of fashion some more this semester and be inspired by all of the other Style Gurus while also sharing my own style and hopefully inspiring someone else too!
