Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Katelyn and I am so excited to be a Style Guru this semester. A little about me, I was born and raised in New Jersey but currently call Virginia home while attending Liberty University. I absolutely fell in love with central Virginia during my freshman year and cannot imagine going to school anywhere else. While I’m home on breaks, I am ALWAYS in New York City—Brooklyn has my heart for sure. I hope to one-day call NYC home as well, so fingers crossed!
As I mentioned above I attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. I am a sophomore with a double major in digital marketing and advertising and fashion merchandising. I love what I am studying and really feel at home in both degrees which, I believe, is important for any student to feel. You can always find me drinking a cup of coffee, sewing, studying or in a local thrift store. Thrifting has to be one of my all time favorite past times, it also has a huge influence on my style seeing as no piece of clothing is exactly the same!
My style is heavily influenced by the vintage ’50s and ’90s (a strange combo I know.) I however add my own modern flare to whichever decade I decide to wear on any given day. I look to Carrie Bradshaw for a lot of inspiration. Red lipstick and red nails are a staple in my look because who doesn’t love a pop of color? My outfit is mostly found in thrift stores, my dress, denim shirt and hat are all from local thrift stores and happen to be three of my favorite pieces in my closet! My shoes are from Marshall’s and have been my go-to all summer long. I can’t wait to kick off fall and I hope you are just as excited as I am for a new semester!
