Sup fellow CollegeFashionistas/os! My name is Roshni (Rosh-Knee). I’m a girl who used to love wearing designers such as Bobby Jack, Aéropostale and Justice. Luckily, I have moved on to thrift stores, Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters.
I started off my college career in New York City and that is where my style blossomed. I took what I learned about style from New York to central New Jersey. I am now a junior at Rutgers University, studying Communications and Public Relations. I was drawn to the field of Public Relations because there are so many different ways to communicate with people, just like there are many different ways to style an outfit.
I like to describe myself as the brown version of Carrie Bradshaw with humor like Mindy Kaling. I started a blog during my sophomore year about all the unbelievable miscellaneous things that happened to me in New York City. From New York bar nights to the sale-crazed customers at Abercrombie and Fitch. By starting a blog I developed a passion for writing.
I want to say my sense of style just grew out of convenience. I really wear skirts and dresses only because I don’t like wearing pants. However, if pants are mandatory, jumpers are my go to because you don’t have to find a shirt to go with jeans! And to top it off I add a bomber or a jean jacket to my outfit.
As for accessories I like to keep it simple with just a watch. My favorite watchmakers are Kate Spade, Fossil and Burberry. These makers like to keep telling time simple but chic. In this post I am wearing my rose gold Burberry watch. The rose gold goes well with my floral shorts and lace green top.
Thrift stores are my absolute favorite. I have found key fashion pieces in thrift stores, like the tan fringed jacket that I am wearing in this CollegeFashionista post. When I thrift I mainly look for layering pieces like leather or any kind of jacket. Like the saying goes, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
