Hi everyone! My name is Lauren Padilla, and I’m super excited to be returning to CollegeFashionista for another semester. Starting this fall, I will be a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University. Currently, I’m planning to pursue a double major in writing seminars and international studies, with a minor in marketing and communications.
My favorite activities include writing, designing and traveling. Ultimately, I hope to work in fashion editing and marketing. On campus, I’m involved with several online and print publications, cultural clubs and community-outreach projects. I also write my own fashion column for Masslive.com, a Massachusetts-based news company. This summer, I juggled three separate internships; in addition to working as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, I served as a blogger and fashion intern for a startup subscription-based accessories company and a social media intern for Edheads, an award-winning educational website. This semester, I’m interning for Girls’ Life Magazine in Baltimore, Maryland.
I adore fashion for so many reasons. It’s fun, relevant and fascinating! I love mixing and matching pieces to see which combinations work best. In this picture, I’m wearing a simple green T-shirt and an A-line skirt with leather detailing. Prints are a great way to add interest to an outfit! The scarf I’m wearing is actually from Nepal, but plenty of stores carry similar lightweight scarves. To make everything more cohesive, I added a pair of Clarks heels and a leather cross-body bag.
I know this semester is going to be amazing, and I can’t wait to see what fabulous ensembles Baltimore has to offer! Be sure to check out my articles this fall!
