Nicole here, I am so excited to join the CollegeFashionista team this semester! So a little about me: Texan, total city girl, senior at Oklahoma State University, marketing is the major with a double minor in fashion Merchandising and entrepreneurship. I am a firm believer in coffee three times a day, the word yes, lipstick always, late nights and the phrase “to travel is to live”.
By being a dictator of taste, online-shopping addict and an overly organized perfectionist, it was natural to follow suit of being a total Fashionista. I love the confidence an outfit can give a person and seeing someone’s personality shine through what they wear is truly beautiful. Fashion is so attractive to me because it is a lifestyle. It is extremely difficult to have a bad day when wearing a good outfit. Dress to please you and only you. Wear something every day that says “World, here I am,” and let it become your inner muse. Fashion has no rules and no boundaries. Your style is all about your confidence and the key to style is learning about who you are. It is all about self-expression and, above all, attitude.
There is no how-to road map on style, which makes it beautiful and unique. Sometimes I have no idea what I am doing, but I know it doesn’t end here. I’ve learned happiness looks gorgeous on everyone, all things are possible with coffee and mascara, life isn’t perfect, but your outfit can be and hardships are just a bruise, not a tattoo.
My favorite hobby is traveling, which is the root of my wardrobe inspiration. It is so important to choose experiences over things and to say yes to opportunity because if you don’t now, you probably never will. When you say yes and chase your dreams, I promise it will lead to inspiration and pure joy. Don’t live life according to plan, live by making your closet your canvas, listening to your music way too loud, staying fit, eating clean and having a burger to stay sane. Remember to be kind, be confident and be cool honey bunnies!
