Hi, my name is Sydney Cano and I’m a sophomore at George Mason University. I live in Honolulu, Hawaii when not at college as my father is in the Army. I was born in Germany and have lived all over the United States! I’m currently studying communications with a concentration in public relations and a minor in Spanish (WHAT a mouthful). I hope to one day reach the top of the PR fashion totem pole, but until then I just share my totally relevant opinion on Twitter.
As this is my first year writing for CollegeFashionista, I am beyond stoked. Fashion has become a huge part of my life after I first decided to delve into the fashion world my sophomore year of high school. While I have a great appreciation and love for couture, I shop the Target clothes section as if I was on a scavenger hunt in Barneys. I like to invest in pieces I know will last awhile and also shop for trendy items that are currently in style. I would like to think that I do not have a specific style, as I dress how I want to. Confining myself to only dressing “preppy” or “boho” or something of that nature only prevents me from wearing super cool outfits!
Recently, I started a blog of my own, Sydney Cano. As a comm major, I feel that I always have something to say and felt that a blog was the best place to get those words out. It’s still in the making and I like to document some of my adventures and share my thoughts on there.
In my free time I like to explore Washington DC, go shopping and drink my weight in coffee. If you’re ever looking for me there’s a good chance you’ll find me obsessing over Harry Styles, reading The Fashion Law or dancing to J. Balvin.
This outfit was something I constantly wore in the winter. My coat is from New York & Company, my purse is BCBGeneration, my jeans from are Pacsun and my scarf and booties are from Target.
