WHAT TO WEAR: Classy For Class

Back to School, a time to see school friends again, meet new people and go on great adventures. Back to School, a time when you favorite stores send you coupons and gift certificates, trying to get you to come in for just a quick look (when in reality you’ll spend all day there completely restocking your closet). Back to School, a time to dress for success in order to create a better future for yourself. And dressing for success is exactly what I caught this fabulous, fierce and fun Fashionista doing.

College can be overwhelming, I get that, I really do. Trust me, no one likes getting up for their 7:25 a.m. class, but that’s no reason to throw your fashion sense out the window. Dressing up a little bit while running to class is a great way to improve your sense of self-empowerment. Now, I’m not saying always where a suit or dress to Statistics 101, but sometimes the sweats belong in the gym. This college Fashionista rocked the cute, but casual class look to a T.

Notice how she stuck with the same color palette throughout the entire outfit, while incorporating fun aspects. Even down to the bracelets, necklace and glasses, she incorporated various shades of browns, but her sunglasses added a fun twist to the outfit with a subtle animal pattern. Remember, Fashionistas and Fashionistos, you do not have to match everything, colors merely have to complement each other.

Let’s start from the ground up and dissect this great look. Booties: as we transition into fall booties are a wonderful shoe to keep in your closet. They are super comfy and can dress up just about anything. Particularly they pair great with skirts because they give them a more everyday look.

Next, this zip-up skirt is one of my favorites that I’ve seen on campus this fall because it is made of a suede material. The caramel color will transition well all the way into late November. Because it isn’t quite fall yet, the white blouse adds a nice contrast to the darker colors and adds a subtle pop to the look. Then the accessories tie everything together: the glasses, the beaded wrap band and the unique necklace polish the look off. In college, always remember accessories are your best friend in an outfit because they can quickly change the style of any look.

Always be classy for class. It will help your self-empowerment, you’ll feel great and as you Fashionistas and Fashionistos always do, you’ll look amazing too!
