School has already begun, but like many of you we are trying to stay stylish for at least the first week! So what is a girl supposed to do when the week is coming to an end and the rain has come along? Flirty and sporty are the goals.
Rain didn’t stop this Fashionista from killing the skirt game, while keeping it super comfortable.
This Fashionista wore the softest black corduroy skirt from American Apparel. The A-line front button skirt has been a favorite recently. Last year the seventies corduroy look came back bigger and better than ever. She paired the look with a simple grey striped T-shirt and added that much-needed comfort with scuffed white Vans. Trust me there’s no better feeling than when your white sneakers go from squeaky clean to dingy. Going to school in New York City and stomping around the concrete jungle is the perfect place to get those white shoes messy.
She completed the look with a Brandy Melville canvas backpack which gave me total ’90s baby vibes. The dark blue bag with white straps helped tie the shoes into the look in a major way. With the lack of color in the outfit the multiple textures give the look the pop it needed.
This Fashionista was inspired by so many decades but I couldn’t have come up with a better way to put this look together. It was flirty and sporty and certainly a perfect summer rainy day outfit for back to school.
